Hailing from Toronto, Canada by way of Edmonton, Canada, Myst Milano has been making waves. Yes, their soulful, agile, and eclectic DJ sets have reached heights fitting for Boiler Room and DJ Mag, but they’ve also proven themselves a talented writer and producer, with tracks out on legendary London-based label Defected Records, a Polaris Prize nominated album, and critical acclaim from Resident Advisor, Bandcamp, and Exclaim, among others.
Myst is also a community leader and mentor who has taught skills workshops for women, non-binary and trans people in Toronto and online, and who has garnered a reputation as a community advocate with their work on the ground and online surrounding the 2020 George Floyd protests.
Having carved out their own niche in a musical landscape that can seem undistinguishable, Myst continues to evolve beyond genre, but always with trademark depth, eeriness, wit, and playfulness that makes their music impactful. This trademark ability to sonically shape-shift has seen them share stages with Tinashe, Kim Petras, Cupcakke, Lizzo, Rochelle Jordan, and Thundercat, to name a few, as well as tour across Canada, Europe, and Nicaragua. Whether it’s red-lit raves, garage punk shows, or the glitz and pageantry of the Ballroom scene, Myst has established themselves as a beloved and dynamic force.
